‘Peaceful Existence’ was created from a feeling/emotion. I wanted to create a piece that reflects when I feel most at peace and happy. I pictured myself when I am out walking my dog in a field close to where I live, and there is nobody else around and all you can hear is nature. The portrait of a female with closed eyes is to reflect when you take a deep breath to ground yourself, and appreciate the beauty of nature around you. The butterfly wings reflect the white butterflies I would see dancing round the field together from flower to flower. The shades of purple and burnt orange are from the flowers I would see. The portrait melts into the background, as I feel when you feel at peace, you feel you almost melt into your surroundings.
